"The Art of Epithet Erased",[1] formerly known as Digital Art Book, is an behind-the scenes book with exclusive art from both Season 1 of Epithet Erased, Prison of Plastic,[2] and the music videos[1]. It was produced because Prison of Plastic Kickstarter reached $290K.[2] It is a digital-only book released to Kickstarter backers and on the Epithet Erased patreon. It was complied by Shannon Pallatta.[1] It was later released for free to those who signed up for the EpithetErasedOnline.com newsleter.

  • February 10, 2020 - Jello first mentioned the possibility of producing an art book on twitter under the first tweet under a thread of sketches for Epithet Erased. noting that it "sounds hard".[3]
  • November 28, 2021 - Digital Art Book was added as stretch goal of $290K to the Prison of Plastic Kickstarter.[4]
  • December 26, 2021 - The Prison of Plastic Kickstarter finished with Digital Art Book's stretch goal of $290K being met[5]
  • May 30, 2022 - He announced that it will only be released post Prison of Plastic's release. As well as describing it as a "post-release victory lap".[6][7]
  • January 4, 2023 - On Twitter, Jello made a poll with the results being "Anime Campaign EP 1-2 VOD" 32.6%, "Neo Trio Song" 27.1%, "Behind-the-Scenes Artwork", 20.9%, "Zora Credit Song Extended" 19.1%.[8]
  • May 9, 2023 - In a kickstarter Update, he announced he'll need to hire an extra designer to account for the large amount of images.[9]
  • June 23, 2023 - In a Tweet, Jello explained that there will be artist commentary in the book. With him and Rhea having had a horrible time while everyone else loved working on it.[10]
  • July 30, 2023 - In a Tweet, Jello announced he was giving feedback on the art book today, coupled with the release pages that were a compile of Giovanni potage concept art. He also noted there was a lot of things in production that won't come out for awhile.[11]
  • August 3, 2023 - In a Kickstarter Update, a sketch of the cover was released as well Howie Honeyglow concept art. Also revealing an early version of the book which had a conservative amount of concept art was over 400 pages.[12]
  • August 7, 2023 - In a Tweet, Jello announced he was still working on the Art Book, this time including pages of Phoenica Fleecity Concept Art.[13]
  • August 17, 2023 - Brendan Blaber announced on Twitter that it is a digital-exclusive book that is 300 pages. This would be releasing today.[1] He later explained, in a reply to Dawn M. Bennett, the reason was because getting Prison of Plastic published took 9 months and he did not want to go through that again with this book.[14]
  • August 17, 2023 - In a Kickstarter update, he announced that all backers would be getting a copy. It took an "absolutely insane" amount of time to put together. Just organizing and editing the images took Brendan two weeks. Then it took two weeks to hire a designer, Shannon Pallatta, and then five separate revisions of a 300 page book, with multiple notes per page. Multiple times. All in all, $5000 to put together, not including the cash he originally paid the artists to create the concept art. Jello emphasizes that "screenshares and such" are fine, but do not upload the entire thing to fileshare sites.[15]

  • The reason this book is digital only is because it took Brendan Blaber 9 months to get Prison of Plastic published and he did not want to go through that again with this book.[14]
  • An earlier version of the book had 400 pages despite its conservative amount of concept art.[12]
  • It took a total of $5000 to make this book, not including the money it took originally make the concept art.[15]
