Bugsy Pugsler is a snooty Banzai Vice Principal in the criminal organization known as the Banzai Blasters, who was paired with Arnold Markdown to raid the small backwoods town of Redwood Run. He would steal the Arsene Amulet from Giovanni Potage before losing a fight in the Howdy Morning's Tavern. Then he would quickly defeated by Zora Salazar, and then captured by the cops.

Bugsy's epithet, "Bellybutton", allows him to launch randomized attacks after eating enough food.

Bugsy is an arrogant and demanding jerk who looks down on his underlings, and also very self-centred, willing to ditch his partner Arnold to save his own hide. He is also capricious, refusing to hand over the Arsene Amulet to Zora Salazar and whines like a spoiled child.

Past[edit | edit source]

On March 20, Bugsy Pugsler was born to an old money family,^[4] in Sweet Jazz City, Taiga Country.^[5] He later joined the Banzai Blasters, promoted to Banzai Vice Principal, paired with Arnold Markdown, and occupied Redwood Run with the rest of his team.

Epithet: Bellybutton[edit | edit source]

Bugsy is able to eat nearly anything (so long as it isn't too hot). After he eats something, his belly inflates and his bellybutton pokes out. He can press his bellybutton inward to spit out a random attack at his opponents. Bugsy claims that the quality of his food determines the quality of his attack.

Ice Blast: He can belch up an ice shard to freeze his enemy.
Rubber Duckies: He can cough up a bunch of rubber ducks, which do no damage.

On Twitter, it was revealed that Bugsy was originally going to curl into a ball 'like sonic' but it was cut for being too hard to animate on flat backgrounds.^[8]
On Twitter Brendan Blaber said, "I get the impression that Bugsy is the black sheep of some Old Money family and he basically bought his way to Banzai Vice-Principal with embarassing amounts of cash over the years."^[2]
On Twitter, Brendan made a tier list of how well liked in the fandom each character is, placing Bugsy in "Mid"^[9]
On Twitter, Brendan made a tier list of Stardew Valley spouses, Bugsy being paired with Elliot because "Bugsy is pulling the same scam as Arnold, except he figures Elliot comes from money and if he marries him then Elliot's fortune will be his once his body washes up on the beach."^[10]
On Twitter, Brendan revealed he was sent a set of teas inspired by characters from Epithet Erased. Bugsy, along with Arnold Markdown, were used on a tin of lemon balm tea titled "Bugsy and Arnold". It had the caption "E.V.I.L. Every Villain is Lemon (balm)".^[11]
His first name is "Bugsy", while in Anime Campaign, it was "Bugsly".
If Bugsy Pugsler and Arnold had succeeded in delivering the Amulet to Banzai upper management and gotten promoted, only Arnold would have moved up a rank.^[12]
