You can be as mundane as you like when you know how to do your goddamn job. |

—Howie Honeyglow, "All's Well That Ends Well" |
Howie Honeyglow is a hardworking Mundie construction worker who has a strained history with Percival King. He's got a menacing aura, but really cares about nothing but people doing their jobs. He is the number one contractor in Sweet Jazz City.[3]

At some point, Howie Honeyglow became friends with Calliope Blyndeff when she went back to school to major in Archtiture. He became a friend to the Blyndeff family and babysat her daughters (Molly and Lorelai Blyndeff) a few times when the two were much younger then present day.[1]

Personality[edit | edit source]
Howie is a hard-worker who detests any disturbance that hinders his work progress. When incensed by distractions, he is not exempt from attacking the people who distract him with his tools. He also is quite competitive, as he has a rivalry with Percival King, even taunting her at times.[4]
However, despite his hard-shell outside, he seems to genuinely care for the people close to him. He rewards his Worker Bees with "Honeyed Snacks" when they work hard, and even gives them to Percy when she's struggling, despite their rivalry.[4]
He also has quite an obsession with "doing your goddamn job." He has little sympathy for people like Gorou Shimizaki, who constantly goofs off. He works himself to the bone (planning to work himself to death by 35) and has little tolerance for antics from people like Zora Salazar.[4]

Abilities[edit | edit source]
Despite his status as a Mundie, Howie has the second highest stats in the series so far (having a maxed Stamina of 15 and a very high Proficiency of 12), beaten only by Zora Salazar. This, combined with his immense speed and strength, makes Howie an incredibly strong and effective construction worker. Howie is also formidable in a fight, as he manages to take out three Banzai Blasters in a single attack by bending a wrench into a boomerang (and back).[4]
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Howie's favorite snack is a "Honeyed Snack" which is a hexagon screw shaped treat cover in honey. He is always brimming with joy when he mentions it.[4][2]
- Brendan Blaber admitted that Howie’s abilities were straight up ripped from Graham Specter from Baccano!.[5]
- Howie is the first character with a ★MAX★ stat (thus having the highest stamina so far) and the first Mundie with stats.
- Howie is both asexual[6] and aromantic.[7]
- He is from northern Deepwood Country.[8]
- His height is 5'10".[2]
- His birthday is September 5.[2] This makes him a Virgo.
- Unsurprisingly, his favorite animal is the honeybee.[2]
- He is VERY pro-union.[2]
- He likes a job well-done, full health plan coverage designated paternity leave.[2]
- Brandan actually wanted Howie to be older but due to the joke in Season 1 of, "Expected to work himself to death by the age of 35", so he can't make him much older than this due to continuity.[9]
- On Twitter, Brendan made a tier list of how well liked in the fandom each character is, placing Howie in "Well-Liked (w/ Rare Exceptions)"[10]
- On Twitter, Brendan made a tier list of Stardew Valley spouses, Howie being placed in the single tier because "He inherited valuable property from his grandfather and he won't be able to flip it and turn the place into an asset if he spends all his time with the local yankis."[11]
- On Twitter, Brendan revealed he was sent a set of teas inspired by characters from Epithet Erased. Howie was used on a tin of honeybush tea titled "Howie Honey-bush". It had the caption "Mix With Honey As Sweet As Apricots And Cloves".[12]
- On Twitter, Brendan explained the sprite where Howie gave a glare from behind while he holds the wrench was a tough sprite to draw.[13]
- About Howie's race swap from Anime Campaign, Brendan said: "Howie’s design I always felt was kind of simple and boring and I’d just watched Black Panther. I thought his design might look cooler with Killmonger’s hairstyle in front of his eye. That’s the only reason he got swapped".
