"Winner Take All" is the 7th episode of the first season of Epithet Erased, and the 7th episode overall. It will be adapted in the EP 5-7 Novelization.

Official Synopsis

Zora appears at the train station and challenges Ramsey and Percy to one final duel: Winner gets the Arsene Amulet and control of Ramsey’s fate! The catch? No epithets allowed![1]

Plot

Zora, Percy and Ramsey fight for who will get the Arsene Amulet and Ramsey, much to his dismay. If Zora wins, she gets to keep the amulet and she’ll have full right to turn Ramsey in for a profit. If Percy wins, she’ll finally reach her goal of getting the Arsene Amulet and she’ll get to keep Ramsey.

The rules of the battle are simple; No epithet usage at all, if you do use your epithet then that means you automatically lose. To abide by this rule, Percy cuffs her and Ramsey together to not only obey the rules, but to show some inscribed-mundie solidarity towards Ramsey.

Zora starts their battle by telling them (Percy and Ramsey) that she conveniently left some bullets suspended in the air. This is a feature of her epithet so she stops using the ability and, because they are bullets, they go flying everywhere.

Percy dodges most of the bullets, hitting them with her signature sword and using Ramsey as a shield of sorts. Ramsey on the other hand, doesn’t dodge them because he is currently being used as a wall.

After awhile of fighting, Ramsey manages to get ahold of one of Zora’s guns and bangs the handle against a rock. Zora yells at him to not do it again, unfortunately, she’s talking to Ramsey. He hits her gun against the rock two more times before it shatters.

Zora pins Ramsey down to the ground and reveals a second gun, which makes Ramsey confused as to why she was so angry at him destroying one of her guns if she already had another one, he also says that she could just rewind her gun back to life. Which makes her more angry.

Zora angrily explains that she can’t reverse things if the cycle has already ended.

She then imbues her epithet “Sundial” into Percy’s sword that she had dropped during the battle, which makes her a hundred times more dangerous because (As stated before) if Zora imbues her epithet into an object/weapon, she can one-shot someone with ease.

Trivia

  • According to Brendan Blaber, "Percy was cuffing them together in an act of Mundie-Inscribed solidarity. This was her way of putting Ramsey’s “don’t underestimate mundies” creedo into action. To her, Percy is taking a heroic stand. To Ramsey, she’s dooming them both. I think this is hilarious". [2]
  • Zora embuing Percy’s sword is only temporary in this episode, because Brendan (Jello) states that she hasn’t mastered the skills of embuing yet.[3]
  • The To be continued... sign at the end of the episode glitches into the words, Bliss Ocean, Condoriano, To be continued... (again), Great at Crime, and finally the Bliss Ocean logo.
  • Zora did not have her stats card updated because this episode was done in a crunch.[4]
  • This is the only Epithet Erased episode to not have an outro song, instead the credits just appears over Ramsey and Percy talking.
