the episode begins with Molly's previous call to the police on Giovanni's phone, we learn that Percy was the lady on the other end and that she is headed to the museum to investigate.

Cut to the present where Dr. Beefton prepares to battle Giovanni and Molly, to which they scream in fear.

(Deadline plays)

Dr. Beefton continues on to explain that he "has a PhD in death" as well as a doctorate in philosophy and modern linguistics, to which no-one responds. Giovanni asks Molly if she can de-summon Dr. Beefton, she cannot, which makes them both even more distressed. he attempts to attack his opponents and miss before Giovanni's attempts to fling the knife taped to his bat at Dr. Beefton, but it failed.

Giovanni asks for his knife which causes Dr. Beefton to throw it at him, missing. Giovanni rambles before Molly looks for a weak spot, spotting Sylvie’s sleeping body suspended inside his torso. From this she deduces that all they have to do to beat him is to wake him up. With her realization Dr. Beefton becomes more aggressive and charges at them. He manages to hit Molly causing her to fly up into the air and land on the floor. Giovanni attempts to hit him again but it fails, because there is "too much beef in the way". Molly tries to think of a way to escape before Dr. Beefton tries to crush her. Giovanni distracts him using his red cape to cause Dr. Beefton to charge at him, crashing into the wall.

This causes some lights from the ceiling to fall down. Giovanni attempts to shine the lights into Dr. Beefton's torso to wake up Sylvie but Dr. Beefton buttons up his jacket, blocking the light. Dr. Beefton grabs the bears from Fort Cool Guy and repeatedly bashes Giovanni with them. Giovanni is injured but uses his once-per-battle Ancient Potion (which is a bottle of soup materialized from his sweat) to heal, smugly saying that all his attacks have so far been useless. Dr. Beefton proceeds to hit him some more before Molly triggers the fire alarm. The piercing sound causes Dr. Beefton to cover his ears in discomfort and protest before shrinking and disappearing as Sylvie wakes up. He is exhausted and disheartened and utterly defeated. Giovanni triumphantly “promotes” Molly up one Banzai Rank as Sylvie crawls away with the intent to warn the police about them. They explain to Sylvie that Mera was the one going to steal the amulet but Sylvie continues to be skeptical. He wails in dismay when he sees all the damage Dr. Beefton wreaked on the museum and wonders if he could plead self-defense, before Giovanni points out that he attacked them first. Molly offers to be his friend, which he declines, due to them being criminals. However, after some more convincing on Molly’s part, Sylvie begrudgingly agrees to work with them.

Molly disrupts Sylvie and Giovanni's arguing to point out that the police are coming due to the fire alarm. Mera realizes the same thing and, panicked, wakes up Indus by smacking him with a crowbar. She frantically searches for the amulet while Indus unconcernedly talks about sand, quickly finding it. Cutting back to Molly, Giovanni, and Sylvie, Molly asks about Giovanni’s bat with a knife taped onto it, which he calls his Soul Slugger Doom Bat. Sylvie calls it a toy to which Giovanni responds with a remark on Sylvie’s yo-yo, leading them into another debate until Molly breaks them up. Afterward Molly gets a business card for therapy and they begin to formulate a plan. Indus stops them from entering the backroom (where Mera is) and asks for Molly to come with him so they can test the amulet. Molly talks with him before Slyvie attempts to intervene.

But he is caught in 'mental chess' (mind games) to do anything. Despite this Indus lets him pass before turning his attention back to getting Molly to come with him. Giovanni stops Molly from going with him. Despite Indus loving Giovanni's speech he agrees to fight Giovanni, easily winning due to Giovanni getting distracted with affirming Molly that he as gonna win. Molly asks why Mera wants her epithet and Indus explains that it is because due to Molly's Epithet being able to dumb pain it can dumb Mera's constant pain from having the epithet, "fragile". Meanwhile Mera and Slyvie battle for the Amulet.
