Ocean Country is a country in the World of Epithet Erased. It is hidden at the bottom of the sea where everyone knows the lost art of magic. Candy Factories, a magical academy, video games, and electric wanders hide the nation's dark beating heart in the tunnels below[1] Rick Shades is from there.

Past
Founding
After years of discrimination for practicing dark magic, the magicians of the world formed a new colony at the bottom of the sea where they could practice their craft undisturbed. [2] It is ruled over by an ancient warlock by the name of "He Who Hungers Endlessly." he is described by Rick Shades as a "big squid man, 10 feet tall, sits on an electric throne: terrifying." He is also said to have glowy eyes, although it is not specified whether he has multiple or just one [3]
Surface-Dwellers
There are almost no pure-blooded Ocean Race people on the surface, but their descendants live in diaspora. Ocean Race people have dark skin and bright hair colored like poisonous sea creatures. Anyone with unnatural colored hair (present in characters like Trixie and Giovanni) likely have Ocean Race in their blood, as it's an always dominant trait.[2]
Customs
The Harvesting is an Ocean Country custom, consisting of taking away powerful child epithet wielders to live in the coliseum's cells. There, they are to battle each other until powerful enough to face against the supreme leader himself. The custom is a way for He Who Hungers Endlessly to gain power; Since the children inevitably lose, they are essentially farmed for experience.[3]
