Colosseum

From Epithet Erased Wiki

The Colosseum is an arena where the Ocean Country ruler, He Who Hungers Endlessly, holds gladiator battles amongst the Harvested and himself to become stronger. It also has holding cells that act as the Harvested's living quarters. Rick Shades was one of the prisoners since he was 12.

History[edit | edit source]

The Colosseum, an Ocean Country construct, was used by He Who Hungers Endlessly to imprison the Harvested, wizards and witches he kidnapped whose powers had grown strong enough to provoke his attention, and have them duel amongst one another. Eventually, after a combatant become powerful enough to again catch the Supreme Leader's eye, He Who Hungers Endlessly would use the Colosseum to fight against them personally and expand his epithet's Proficiency. To ensure the Harvested stayed in their confinement, He Who Hungers Endlessly deployed guards to guard the arena.[1]

The 12-year-old Toidei Gourami was harvested joining the Harvested. Due to Epithet *Soulmates* he couldn't grow stronger from the battles due to his profieency being based on his friends. So he decided to start intentionally losing battles and gained the persona of "Rick Shades" so he would feel less attached to his friends. By allowing his contestants to win, his opponents in the arena would normally become his friends. Eventually, Rick realized he would be disposed of due to his current friends getting hurt or dying. He asked his remaining friends if he could borrow their powers to escape, using his epithet to temporaily copy them, to which they agreed. Rick then used the borrowed abilities break the glass of the arena to swim away till he became too far from his friends and he passed out, eventrually arriving on the beach of Sweet Jazz City.[1]
